Company names 3 officers to lead realignment to save $30M-$50M a year

NEW YORK (CNNfn) - High-tech manufacturing firm AlliedSignal Inc. announced a realignment Wednesday it said will save $30 million to $50 million a year.
AlliedSignal (ALD), based in Morris Township, N.J., said the move to realign its aerospace businesses will cut costs, simplify the business structure and strengthen market and customer focus. The company said it expects the realignment to have a positive effect on 1999 free cash flow.
The company also appointed three executives to lead the realignment. Robert Johnson, president of AlliedSignal Electronic & Avionics System, was named president of AlliedSignal Marketing Sales & Services. Frank Daly, vice president of AlliedSignal Commercial Air Transport Avionics, will succeed Johnson as president of EAS.
Joseph DeSarla, senior vice president of Operations for AlliedSignal Aerospace Equipment Systems, was named president of this division.
AlliedSignal shares closed up ¼ Tuesday at 43-13/16.
