NEW YORK (CNNfn) - The new line of IBM Aptiva PCs will connect to Yahoo!'s Web directory capabilities and personalized Web pages under terms of an agreement the companies disclosed Monday.
The new PC line, which was unveiled Jan. 7, will connect to a co-branded My Yahoo! start page that allows for quick access to the Internet. The start page can be personalized to include news, sports and financial information customized by the user.
The new start page also allows for a proprietary IBM section that includes news, information about new products and online customer support services.
"This agreement with Yahoo! further punctuates IBM's commitment to provide customers with an uncomplicated Internet experience," says IBM consumer systems general manager Brian Conners.
IBM shares closed Friday at 187-9/16, down 2-5/8. Yahoo! stock finished at 343-5/8, up 23-5/8. Back to top
