NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Centennial Healthcare Corp. said Tuesday it received a government subpoena for copies of records in an investigation into possible Medicare fraud.
The Atlanta-based company, which operates 107 nursing homes and long-term care facilities in 21 states, said the subpoena relates to its internal policies and four of its long-term care sites.
Centennial said it would cooperate and provide all documents requested by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of the Inspector General.
It added it isn't aware of the origin of the probe, which is the latest in the government's ongoing investigation of fraud in Medicare, the health insurance program for the elderly.
Centennial shares fell 6-3/16 to 9-5/16 on Nasdaq Monday. Back to top
