NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Deals -- one with NASA, another with Volkswagen -- sent shares in a satellite maker and a software provider soaring Tuesday.

Ames, Iowa-based Engineering Animation gained 1-11/16 to 9-13/16.
Jenny Craig Inc. (JC), meanwhile, rose sharply Tuesday, becoming the biggest gainer on the New York Stock Exchange. The gains came after the New York Times said Monica Lewinsky, the former White House intern, will appear in TV commercials for the operator of weight-loss centers.
In addition, Jenny Craig Monday announced a redesigned Web site, jennycraig.com.
The La Jolla, Calif.-based firm gained 3/4, or 35 percent, to 2-7/8.

Minneapolis-based Retek climbed 22-7/8, or 27 percent, to 107-7/8.

The deal allows Yahoo! E-mail users to access JFAX.com's fax service.
Los Angeles-based JFAX fell 1-5/16, or 17 percent, to 6-3/8 Tuesday.
