Name: Trish of Texas.

Question: Trimble (TRMB: Research, Estimates). What are the short- and long-term prospects for Trimble?

Answer: Long-term prospects are very bright for Trimble. Global Positioning Satellite Systems (GPSS) are becoming very popular, and Trimble will be the main beneficiary of that popularity. In the short term, the stock has advanced a great deal, and so it will probably move sideways for a while.

Name: Dennis of Michigan.

Question: General Motors (GM: Research, Estimates). I would like to know the long-term rating on GM. The stock has gone down 30 percent in the past few months. Would I be better off owning GMH (GMH: Research, Estimates) rather than General Motors?

Answer: I like GMH better than GM for its direct-TV satellite system. Ford (F: Research, Estimates) is a better buy than GM.

Name: Michele (location unknown).

graphicQuestion: Rambus (RMBS: Research, Estimates). Can you tell me what is happening to Rambus? What is your opinion on the stock?

Answer: This is a case of a once-highflying stock climbing the mountain again. Whenever a momentum stock sells off, all the investors that didn't sell out at the top sell the stock all the way back up. I would find a different story, like Atmel (ATML: Research, Estimates).

Name: Cindie of Texas.

Question: Nokia (NOK: Research, Estimates). Where do you see this stock going in the short term, especially in light of the fact that the company is planning to buy back a large amount of its own stock?

Answer: In the short term it might stand still. In the long term, you'll make a lot of money in the position. Nokia is the best company to take advantage of the coming demand in cellular phones with the new cellular standard, GSM3. This is a very attractive entry point.
