NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Joseph Parnes, president of Technomart Investment Advisors, said on Friday he thinks Juniper Networks will be volatile, but will pay off in higher prices; the Nokia sell-off is temporary; Carl Icahn should graphicbenefit GM Hughes; investors should avoid airline stocks and Sprint is a better telecom buy than WorldCom.

Name: Maria (location unknown)

Question: Juniper Networks (JNPR: Research, Estimates). I see your guest owns Juniper. I made so much money on Juniper, but sold it a few weeks ago because I was afraid of a downturn. Should I get back into it now or wait for a further correction?

Answer: The risk of getting back into stocks like Juniper is high. However, Juniper is a fine company -- they're providers of routers -- and they have succeeded in capturing market from Cisco (CSCO: Research, Estimates). If your risk tolerance is high and you are not concerned about volatile moves, I would get back to Juniper at current levels in expectancy of higher prices.

Name: Jaime (location unknown)

Question: Nokia (NOK: Research, Estimates). I've worked for Nokia mobile phones now for a year. I was wondering about the long-term effects on that particular stock.

Answer: Nokia is being hit because of the changeover to generation 3 (3G) phones. There is a possibility that Nokia's customers may delay orders or cancel existing orders before the new models come out. The sell-off in Nokia is temporary. Hold on to your position, and if you have extra money, this would be a good opportunity to add to your position.

Name: Victor (location unknown)

Question: GM Hughes (GMH: Research, Estimates). What do you think about Hughes in relationship to Mr. Icahn, spin-offs and possible sale of the company?

Answer: Normally, when Mr. Icahn gets involved with any company, his actions have been shown to be profitable and fruitful. I wouldn't be surprised graphicto see the same thing happen with GM, after spinning off Hughes at a much higher price than they had anticipated. I would hold on to Hughes and take the opportunity to add to my position at the current retracted prices.

Name: Paul in Toronto

Question: Northwest Airlines (NWAC: Research, Estimates). I would like your outlook for the airline industry in general and, specifically, your opinion on Northwest Airlines.

Answer: The airline industry is being hit because of high fuel prices, which cut into their bottom line. Also the airlines are having trouble with flight delays and undercapacity, causing extra expenses. I don't expect them to have earnings growth for the coming quarters until some of the uncertainty is removed. I would not be a buyer of airlines at this time.

Name: Mike (location unknown)

Question: WorldCom (WCOM: Research, Estimates). If I sell my WorldCom now at a loss, what telecom would you suggest I buy to take advantage of the low prices in telecoms?

Answer: Since your intention is a tax loss, I would switch WorldCom to Sprint (FON: Research, Estimates). In this way, you have a chance of appreciation on Sprint when the dust settles with the telecom sell-off.
