NEW YORK (CNNfn) - U.S. stock markets rebounded from sharp early losses at midsession Wednesday, with the Nasdaq composite index using new strength in technology issues to erase a more than 4 percent decline.
Among the stocks helping to undo the downturn was Microsoft, which gained after a schedule for its antitrust appeal that will carry it into February 2001, past the presidential inauguration, was announced.
At 12:50 p.m. ET, the Nasdaq dropped 12.32 to 3,228.22, erasing a decline of as much as 137 points. The Dow Jones industrial average slipped 54.01 to 10,470.39, while the S&P 500 dropped 11.04 to 1,374.90.
