NEW YORK (CNNfn) - To boost holiday sales, try two-for-one or free-gift-with-purchase promotion.

No matter what you sell, you can boost sales by offering something for free or at a discount price.

Relate your marketing campaign to the holiday season, for example, if you sell gift baskets, offer a free smaller version for the purchaser.

If you sell books, offer a free paperback to the purchaser of a hardbound book for a gift.

Offering free samples is a surefire way to get more of your products into the right hands.
