"Quite frankly, as a sector, it's hard to beat the financials, but having said that, I think one still has to be selective, but in that area I find a lot of value. The casualty insurers, for example, like a Chubb (CB: Research, Estimates) certainly fit that. A Wells Fargo (WFC: Research, Estimates) certainly would be another example in the bank category," said Marshall Acuff, equity strategist at Citigroup/Salomon Smith Barney. "Biotech has held up very well. It's an area I've liked for a long time. I'm not new to it, but I think an Amgen (AMGN: Research, Estimates) or a Genentech (DNA: Research, Estimates), particularly for investors, is longer term. I think we're very early in what is increasing improvement of new product flow. Increasing productivity in the biotech sector."
Chubb is trading up $1.25 to $85.38 with a 52-week high of $87.56 and a 52-week low of $43.25.
Wells Fargo is trading down 72 cents to $46.66 with a 52-week high of $48.62 and a 52-week low of $31.37.
Amgen is trading up 38 cents to $65.19 with a 52-week high of $80.43 and a 52-week low of $42.62.
Genentech is trading down $1.50 to $70.25 with a 52-week high of $122.50 and a 52-week low of $40.56.

"We manage about $4 billion here. And I probably have throughout my six portfolios a weighted average cash position, that's pretty high, of about 15 percent. So, what I'm doing is I'm buying toe-hold positions on certain days, adding to existing positions I like. Introducing some new stocks and when I introduce a new stock, it's typically more of a value tech stock that I've been buying all year. A couple of stocks that fit that bill that bought recently, that have a nice valuation floor, plus some pretty good fundamentals, companies like Comverse (CMVT: Research, Estimates), Scientific-Atlanta (SFA: Research, Estimates), Tellabs (TLAB: Research, Estimates) are some names that if things get rough, they are showing a nice valuation basis," said Paul Meeks, portfolio manager of the Merrill Lynch Global Technology Fund.
Comverse is trading up $2.19 to $95.19 with a 52-week high of $123.57 and a 52-week low of $56.50.
Scientific-Atlanta is trading up $1 to $44.63 with a 52-week high of $94 and a 52-week low of $24.40.
Tellabs is trading up 69 cents to $60.19 with a 52-week high of $76.93 and a 52-week low of $37.62.
