Designer Classics recalls about 11,000 jeans due to choking hazard
|
NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Designer Classics LLC is recalling about 11,000 of its children's jeans and overalls manufactured under the BABY GUESS and GUESS GIRLS labels.
Young children may be at risk of choking because the small decorative metal appliques on the legs of the garments can come loose and separate.
The Keasbey, N.J., company has received one report of a child mouthing a metal piece that had separated from the garment.
The denim jeans and overalls were sold in sizes 6 months through 6X. Style numbers on the bottom of the care label read: KL11450, KH11448, JL21338, JH21408, and JH31288. On the front of the care label is "Made in Indonesia" and the size of the garment. The BABY GUESS or GUESS GIRLS label is above the care label.
Department and specialty stores throughout the United States sold the garments from October 2000 to December 2000 for between $36 and $42.
Consumers should stop using these garments immediately and call the company for instructions on returning the garment for another garment of the same size.
The company can be contacted at (888) 626-4939. Garments should be mailed to Designer Classics LLC, Attention: Recall, 22351 Wilmington Ave., Carson, CA 90745. Consumers will be reimbursed for standard postage.
