NEW YORK (CNNfn) - Last week's big pre-earnings warnings from Nortel Networks and JDS Uniphase did more than just knock the wind out of the sector leaders; the news has delivered a hard punch to the fiber-optic sector, once the darling of Wall Street and venture capital companies.
