The insurance industry is ready to help small businesses in the WTC area

NEW YORK (CNNmoney) - Small businesses located inside so called "hot zone" at the World Trade Center area as well as those in the vicinity should be contacting their insurance companies for possible benefits.

Everything from workers' compensation and disability to interruption-of-business expenses could be eligible for some sort of insurance payoff. Businesses that were physically damaged in the attacks could be eligible for lost income for up to twelve months while rebuilding takes place. Businesses that may not have been physically damaged by the attacks, but had to close, maybe also be eligible for benefits under business interruption insurance.
