NEW YORK (CNNmoney) - The Labor Department said Friday that the unemployment rate rose to 5.4 percent in October from 4.9 percent in September. As employers cut hundreds of thousands of jobs, what are your options in case you find yourself looking for one?
One of the suggestions is to expand your job-hunting targets to include other geographical areas and a variety of companies and jobs. Make sensible financial backup plans and think about side work that you can do to earn money until you land the job you want. Don't get discouraged and give up.
