    NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Veterinary hospital operator VCA Antech Inc. raised $160 million ahead of its initial public offering Tuesday.

    VCA, which operates the largest network of veterinary diagnostic laboratories and full-service animal hospitals in the United States, priced 16 million shares at $10 per share.

    The company initially expected price 14 million shares between $12 and $14 per share through lead underwriters Credit Suisse First Boston and Goldman Sachs.

    The company had more than $354 million in revenue in 2000 and lost nearly $14 million. VCA plans to trade on the Nasdaq under the symbol "WOOF." graphic
