NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Pet owners face high prices for medical procedures for their pets.
For example, a kidney transplant for a cat can cost $6,500 and a simple canine ear infection can run as much as $1,000. In addition, chemotherapy for your four-legged friend can run as much as $10,000.
To ease the financial pain, some people are taking a second look at pet insurance. Depending on the plan, your reimbursement may range anywhere from 70 percent to 100 percent after the deducible.
