Ethan Allen interiors Inc. said Tuesday it will cut 223 employees and take a fiscal fourth-quarter charge as the furniture maker closes a manufacturing plant and shuts down the lumber operations at another facility.
The Danbury, Conn.-based company said it will close its plant in Randolph, Vt., which employs 154 workers. The firm will also cease lumber operations at its Orleans, Vt., facility, resulting in 69 job cuts.
Ethan Allen (ETH: down $0.62 to $40.68, Research, Estimates) said it will take a charge of 9 cents a share in the quarter ending June 30.
