May 19, 2003: 11:25 AM EDT

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Oprah Winfrey signed a two-year extension with Viacom Inc.'s King World Productions to continue as host and producer of her highly rated talk show through the 2007-2008 television season.

With the two-year extension, Winfrey will produce 130 new episodes in each of the seasons following the 2003-2004 period.

"It's fulfilling being able to do this kind of television," said Winfrey in a written statement. "And I believe continuing to have a voice and a platform to speak to the world is still the right thing to do."

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Shares of Viacom (VIA: down $0.79 to $44.91, Research, Estimates) lost ground in Monday morning trading.  Top of page
