The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said it had received 77 reports of problems, including dozens of injuries related to the stroller. Additionally, there were 46 reports of bumps and bruises.
The Columbus, Indiana-based company said the "Rock 'N Roller" strollers, which consist of removable seats that can also be repositioned or used as a bassinet, can partially detach if certain pins are bent or missing or if the seat has not been correctly attached, allowing the infant to fall out of the seat.
The strollers, were sold at Wal-Mart, Kmart, Sears, Toys R Us, Target, JC Penney stores, Service Merchandise and other toy and children's furniture stores nationwide from April 1996 through August 2002, priced at between $79 and $179.
They were manufactured in China and have dark blue or green metal frames with four wheels on the front and two wheels on the back.
A label on the back of the frame contains the following model numbers:01-654, 01-622, 01-624, 01-646 or 01-656. The seat cover is usually a dark blue or green.
The CPSC said consumers should stop using the recalled "Rock 'N Roller" immediately and call the firm to see how to inspect the stroller for possible replacement at 1-800-711-0402 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
