NEW YORK (CNN/Money) -
It may not be "Dewey Defeats Truman" but copies of Tuesday's New York Post mistakenly naming Richard Gephardt as presidential candidate John Kerry's running mate are already for sale on eBay.
The newspaper, numerous copies of which were listed for sale on the electronic marketplace, were fetching bids as high as $6.50.
The July 6, 2004, front page of the New York Post featured a photo of Democratic presidential hopeful Kerry and Gephardt, the Democratic Congressman from Missouri, under the headline: Kerry's Choice, Dem picks Gephardt as VP candidate.
In fact, Kerry chose John Edwards, the North Carolina Senator and former rival of Kerry's for their party's nomination for president.
By midday in New York, at least 40 copies had been posted on eBay, and with just about a day left before the auctions expired, just seven copies of the newspaper had fetched bids.
