NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - The home of the Golden Arches is about to get a remake.

McDonald's (MCD: Research, Estimates), the world's largest restaurant chain, said Monday that it will launch a new flagship store in Chicago that is set to open in April 2005.

The new store will replace a store dubbed "Rock 'n' Roll McDonald's," which is the company's third busiest U.S. location. When the new store opens next year it may become even busier as drive-through and seating capacity will double.

"This restaurant concept was the vision of our company's late chairman and CEO, Jim Cantalupo," said current CEO Charlie Bell in a statement. "It was very important to Jim, and our entire management team is committed to making his grand vision a reality."

The new location will have wireless Internet access, a roof with greenery integrated into the design, and interactive technology that the company said is currently under development.  Top of page
