Yahoo! offers free ice cream
Portal celebrates 10th birthday by offering registered members a Baskin-Robbins cone or cup.
March 2, 2005: 4:14 PM EST

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Here's the scoop on Yahoo!'s 10th birthday: Free ice cream.

The search engine giant is celebrating its 10th birthday by offering Baskin-Robbins ice cream through its Web site.

Web surfers can visit the site Wednesday and, if they're a registered member of Yahoo!, download a coupon for a free 2.5-ounce cup or cone at participating Baskin-Robbins stores, Yahoo! (down $0.09 to $32.21, Research) announced.

The coupons will include driving directions to the nearest Baskin-Robbins. Non-members must register to get a coupon for free ice cream. The fine print at the bottom of the coupons reveals that each outlet will be reimbursed for up to 300 coupons.

Yahoo! urged participants to move fast, since the offer is only for good for one day.

"It's our birthday, but you get the present," Yahoo! announced on its site.

Yahoo! representatives were not immediately available for further comment about the cost of the offer.

Yahoo! stock fell about 1 percent in early trading on Nasdaq.
