Visitors to the Mission: Space attraction at Walt Disney World's Epcot.

ATLANTA (CNN) - The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy who died Monday afternoon after riding an attraction at Walt Disney World.

Officials said Daudi Bamuwamye was on the Epcot's "Mission: Space" with his sister and mother, who was seen carrying the boy out after the ride ended.

Epcot employees called the Reedy Creek Emergency Service to perform CPR, but authorities said the boy died shortly after arriving at Celebration Hospital, at around 5 p.m. ET.

A medical examiner will perform an autopsy and the results will be released around 2 p.m. Tuesday, said Sheri Blanton of the District 9 Medical Examiner's office.

According to a report from the sheriff's office, the boy was from Pennsylvania, and did meet the 44-inch height requirement for the ride.

A statement from Disney officials said, "We are providing support to the family and are doing everything we can to help them during this difficult time."

The Mission: Space ride simulates, among other astrological adventures, a rocket launch and a mission to Mars. Disney's web site advises guests that they "should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride."
