NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Saturn will begin selling a hybrid SUV sometime in the middle of next year, an executive with the General Motors division said at an executive seminar Wednesday.

The Saturn VUE Green Line could be the start of a new line of hybrid Saturns. This would be similar to the way the brand markets its high-performance Red Line VUE SUV and ION sedan. The company has not said, however, if any other vehicles will carry the Green Line label.

The VUE Green Line will use a system the company calls GM Hybrid Assist, according to a printed copy of remarks made by Saturn general manager Jill Lajdziak at the Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City Michigan.

The SUV will have a "mild" hybrid system which will provide a roughly 10 percent improvement in fuel economy, according to a report in the Detroit Free Press.
