Giuliani's firm looks overseas for partners Ex-New York City mayor's investment bank forms global strategic alliance with French, German peers. NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Investment bank Giuliani Capital Advisors, headed by former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani, is forming a global strategic alliance, with counterparts Aforge Finance S.A. in France and Sal. Oppenheim in Germany to concentrate on cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and capital markets transactions, according to a press release. The firms have experience in mid- to large-sized transactions and will try to use their client relationships and knowledge of local markets to "further penetrate" the trans-Atlantic mergers and acquisitions market, according to the press release. In total, the firms employ 200 professionals and completed 78 domestic and cross-border transactions in 2005. "A growing number of our transactions involve global players; we expect this collaboration to increase our ability to originate and execute significant cross-border transactions," Damien Bachelot, CEO of Aforge, said in the release. ___________________ |
