Paid to deliver on time (no, not FedEx)
Getting paid for your labor goes literal: the mother of the first baby born when comedian Jeff Foxworthy's new show premieres will win $50,000.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Promotional advertising has become quite the intimate affair in the past few years. Commercial sponsors now pay for couples' weddings and buy space on people's bodies, cars, pets and wheelchairs.

Now Country Music Television wants in on the delivery room.

It is announcing on Monday that it will pay $50,000 to the mother of the first baby born in the United States during the "Labor" Day weekend premiere of comedian Jeff Foxworthy's "new baby" -- a sketch comedy show called "Foxworthy's Big Night Out," first airing Friday, Sept. 1.

The winning delivery will be the earliest delivery during the local time that the premiere airs (8:30 p.m. Eastern time, 8:30 p.m. Pacific time, 9:30 pm mountain time and 7:30 p.m. central time). If there's a tie, CMT will hold a random drawing to determine the winner.

CMT also is offering $1,000 to the person who identifies the first baby born.

In addition, CMT will donate a 42-inch flat screen HDTV to the hospital where the earliest birth occurs on Sept. 1. And it will award $5,000 to the mothers who deliver the first baby during the airing of each of the show's 11 subsequent episodes.

To those who have never thought "mutual funds" means everyone's having a good time, you'll be glad to know there is nothing in the contest's rules requiring that the winner be a redneck. Top of page
