NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Coca-Cola is introducing a sparkling green tea drink containing calcium and caffeine that reportedly burns calories.

Enviga, which will hit the Northeast in November, has naturally active plant micronutrients that allegedly increase the body's rate of calorie burning in healthy people with a lean to normal body type, according to the company.

The drink is to be available in green tea, berry and peach flavors. It will be packaged in 12-ounce cans with a suggested price of $1.29 to $1.49.

Enviga was developed by a joint venture between Coke (down $0.07 to $44.05, Charts) and Nestlé S.A.

"Enviga is a great tasting beverage that invigorates your metabolism to gently burn calories, and it's a positive step people can take as part of a balanced lifestyle - like taking the stairs," said John Hackett, senior vice president, Coca-Cola North America Marketing, in a release.

Rival PepsiCo. (down $0.97 to $62.89, Charts) traded down almost 1 percent on the New York Stock Exchange Thursday afternoon, while Cadbury Schweppes plc (up $0.71 to $42.08, Charts) traded up almost 2 percent.
