Late Tuesday moversAmong active issues: Boeing, H&R Block, NortelNEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Here are some of the big movers just before Tuesday's closing bell: Altera Corporation (up $0.85 to $19.29, Charts) reported Tuesday its quarterly net income surged 12 percent on strong demand for its new products. Shares of Boeing (up $4.36 to $84.84, Charts) jumped after a unit of FedEx canceled an order for Airbus aircraft due to delays in delivery, and said it would buy 15 Boeing aircraft instead. The tax preparation firm H&R Block (up $1.29 to $23.18, Charts) said Tuesday it was considering the sale of its subprime lending unit Option One Mortgage Corp. which has struggled amid the cooling housing market. The Chinese online game operator Netease Com Inc. (down $0.99 to $15.33, Charts) reported upbeat earnings for the third quarter on Tuesday, but warned about its profit for the current quarter. |
