Millions of Christmas lights recalled

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Millions of Christmas light sets sold at Hobby Lobby Creative Centers throughout the southern and central U.S. have been recalled for potential electric shock and fire hazard risk, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The CPSC says the lights have undersized wires which can separate from the plugs and/or the light sockets, and the commission has received one report of a minor shock when a consumer touch the string of lights.

Hobby Lobby said it had received a report of melting wires.

Over 2.3 million sets of lights are affected.

CPSC advises that consumers stop using the lights immediately and return them to the nearest Hobby Lobby store to receive a Hobby Lobby exchange card.

Earlier Thursday, the CPSC announced the recall of 56,000 stuffed Christmas beagle dolls from Wal-Mart Stores (Charts) due to a choking hazard.
