Dash Navigation to create Yahoo-based GPSDash Express will allow users to search Yahoo Local for nearby products, services or businesses from their cars.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Dash Navigation and Yahoo are teaming up to create a device allowing users to search Yahoo Local for nearby products, services or businesses from their cars, according to a press release Wednesday. Dash Express, the first Internet-connected GPS, wirelessly starts a Yahoo (Charts) Local search on the Web with results formatted into address cards and presented as listings of nearby businesses. "For the first time, drivers will be able to leave their homes knowing that they can easily find whatever they need - right from their car," Paul Lego, Dash Navigation's chief executive officer, said in a statement. "It's that simple." In some cases, users will be able to view ratings and reviews from other customers about services and merchants. The Mountain View, Calif.-based company said Dash Express will be available nationwide in the fall of 2007. Ford Motors (Charts) is also set to announce a partnership with Microsoft (Charts) to provide a greater wireless connectivity to its lineup of vehicles, according to a published report. |
