Stocks on the move Thursday

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Here are some of the companies whose shares were active in late trading Thursday:

The biotech firm Genentech Inc. (up $3.75 to $87.49, Charts) reported late Wednesday its fourth-quarter earnings jumped 75 percent on strong sales of its new drug to treat blindness and demand for its cancer drugs.

eBay (up $0.95 to $30.25, Charts) said late Wednesday it agreed to buy sports ticket reseller StubHub for $310 million.

Six Flags (up $0.42 to $5.85, Charts) announced Thursday it would sell seven of its theme and water parks for $312 million, in an effort to reduce some of its debt.

Shares of the business software firm Salesforce.com Inc. (up $1.53 to $41.76, Charts) jumped in Thursday trade after the brokerage Cowen & Co. said Dell Inc. opted to purchase the company's products to help manage its sales and marketing.

The furniture and housewares retailer Restoration Hardware Inc. (down $0.83 to $7.14, Charts) warned Thursday it expects its quarterly earnings to come in at the low end of previous forecasts, blaming lower-than-expected margins during the holiday season.
