Stocks on the move Monday

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Here are some of the companies whose shares were active in Wednesday trading:

Dow Chemical Co. (up $2.79 to $46.24, Charts) shares surged Monday after an unsourced weekend report in the U.K.'s Sunday Express, which said the company may receive a $54 billion takeover offer from a group of private equity firms in the coming weeks.

TXU Corp. (up $7.85 to $67.87, Charts), Texas' largest electric company, announced Monday it agreed to be acquired by a private equity group for $45 billion, including debt.

The insurance broker Hub International Ltd. (up $5.05 to $39.54, Charts) announced Monday it would go private after agreeing to a $1.7 billion takeover offer from the private equity firm Apax Partners and Morgan Stanley Principal Investments.

XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (up $0.13 to $15.23, Charts) said Monday it had narrowed its losses in the most recent quarter, beating Wall Street profits and revenue expectations.

Shares of JetBlue Airways Corp. (down $0.31 to $12.77, Charts) slipped Monday after the discount airline canceled 68 flights to and from JFK Monday as a new storm hit the New York area.
