Martha Stewart earned $17M last year

CEO Susan Lyne makes over $4 million in awards as head of company, on $900,000 in salary.


NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Martha Stewart earned $17 million in 2006 for her role as founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, according to an SEC filing Monday.

She was awarded $900,000 in salary, a $495,000 bonus, $505,000 as part of a compensation plan, and $163,785 in other compensation.

But the real payoff came in a September dividend payout by the company of 50 cents per share, which earned her $14.5 million.

The company's CEO, Susan Lyne, earned $4.4 million in salary, bonus and stock compensation.

Shares of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (Charts) have gained 2.7 percent over the last year.
