Take-Two gets Wells notice from SECThe video game publisher received notice from the commission's staff in connection with a previously disclosed stock options probe.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Take-Two Interactive Software Inc said Wednesday it received a Wells notice from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with a previously disclosed investigation into the company's past stock option granting practices. In the filing, the SEC staff informed the maker of the "Grand Theft Auto" video games that it intends to seek authority from the commission to file charges in connection with its investigation and may also seek a civil monetary penalty. The video game company said it will continue to cooperate with the SEC and expects to resolve the investigation by a settlement rather than litigation. A Wells notice gives a company a final chance to convince the SEC to not file charges. Take-Two (Charts) shares closed down 6.5 percent to $12.60 on Nasdaq. Its shares rose nearly 4 percent to $13.09 in extended trading. |
