Stocks gain ground at startU.S. markets advance as investors keep an eye out for earnings.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- U.S. stocks rose early Tuesday as investors were cautiously bullish ahead of the start of the earnings reporting period. The Dow Jones industrial average added 0.2 percent. The Nasdaq composite index was 0.3 percent higher. The Standard & Poor's 500 index advanced 0.2 percent.
