Stocks skid earlyNasdaq down 1% as renewed credit crunch worries spark selloff.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- U.S. stocks retreated in early trading Monday as Citigroup's mortgage writedown news rekindled concerns about the global credit crunch. The Dow Jones industrial average lost 0.7 percent. The Nasdaq composite index fell 1.3 percent. The Standard & Poor's 500 index was off by 1 percent.
