(CNN) -- India's major stock index dipped slightly Friday after having to close for a day because of the massive assault that rocked the country's economic hub.

The Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark Sensex was down a little less than a percent in early trading Friday. The index was closed Thursday after Wednesday's attack in which gunmen stormed at least seven locations in Mumbai, killing at least 125 people.

Some other major Pacific Asian stock markets rose in trading Friday.

Tokyo's Nikkei index gained 1.7%. Australia's All Ordinaries climbed 4.1%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng index added 2.5%.

U.S. markets were closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. To top of page
