NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff was moved back to his jail cell Monday after being treated for 10 days at a medical facility at the prison where he's incarcerated in North Carolina, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Madoff was transferred to the medical center at the Butner Federal Correctional Complex on Dec. 18 to receive treatment for hypertension and dizziness, said bureau spokeswoman Traci Billingsley.

Rumors swirled after his transfer to the medical facility located within the Butner, N.C. prison, as press reports this summer said Madoff had terminal cancer.
In August the BOP released a statement denying those reports, and last week the bureau said it was standing by that statement.
Madoff, 71, pleaded guilty in March to 11 counts related to running the most massive Ponzi scheme in history and was sentenced to 150 years.
Shortly after his sentencing in New York, Madoff was transferred to the medium-security federal prison.
