It's freebie Friday: Slurpees and sandwiches

Dress as a cow and you will get a free meal at Chick-fil-A.

Like free food? Today's your lucky day!

How does a free Slurpee, free Chick-fil-A meal and, ok not free -- but very low cost -- box of Krispy Kreme (KKD) doughnuts sound?

Because Friday is 7/11, 7-Eleven has its annual free Slurpee giveaway. Walk into your local store between 11am and 7pm and walk out with a Slurpee... gratis.

Want more free stuff? There's an app for that! 7-Eleven says it's giving away free cookies, Twinkies, ice cream bars, and other items starting Monday to folks who download its mobile app. The week ends with another free Slurpee next Saturday.

Come lunchtime, you may want to hit your local Chick-fil-A. But there's a catch.

You have to come fully dressed as a cow to get a free meal (entrée, side item, drink). Partial cow garb only gets you a free sandwich or nuggets.

Udderly ridiculous you say? Well "Cow Appreciation Day" is a big deal to Chik-fil-A. If you've ever seen its commercials you'll know they usually feature some angst-ridden bovines with signs that say "Eat More Chikin."

And for dessert, how about a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts?

They aren't free, but they'll only cost you 77 cents in honor of the chain's 77th birthday.

Bon appetit!
