In just under a decade, Zuckerberg rose from Harvard drop out to one of Silicon Valley's elite. Under his leadership, Facebook grew from a site just for college students to a social media behemoth with more than 1 billion users. He is now one of the richest people in the world with an estimated net worth of $52.2 billion.
One of Zuckerberg's missions is providing internet access to everyone. He launched Internet.org in 2013 with the aim of connecting the world to the internet.
Zuckerberg is also a noted philanthropist. He and his wife, Priscilla Chan, have pledged to give away most of their fortune to charity. The couple launched the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to focus on health and education.
