Alfredo Alcántara

Alfredo Alcántara is a Producer for CNN Tech, focused on creating digital content that explores the intersection of culture and technology

Alfredo is a Mexican cinematographer and documentary filmmaker. His camerawork is featured in the award-winning documentary 'American Promise', recipient of the Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. Alfredo's documentary work has also screened at the Tribeca Film Festival and SXSW.

Prior to joining CNN, Alfredo co-founded Ponderosa Productions and produced 'The Age of Water' a feature documentary supported by BRITDOC and Chicken & Egg Pictures, slated for release in 2018. He was also the cinematographer on 'Hispaniola', a documentary produced and supported by the Canadian Film Board and the Sundance Film Institute.

Alfredo is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He's a native of Mexico City.
