This investment bank has attracted recent fame for its notoriously-high executive compensation. Analyst pay of $129,000 is in the lowest tier of the company's pay scale.

Goldman is undoubtedly an industry leader; CEO Lloyd C. Blankfein received a $53.4 million bonus for 2006, and two other high-ranking Goldman officers, Gary Cohn and Jon Winkelried, each received $25.7 million in restricted stock and options. According to The New York Times, Goldman's average payout dwarfed by 2-to-1 comparable payouts at competitors Bear Stearns and Lehman Bros.
