The world's largest software company continues to grow at a fierce pace. More than 70,000 people now work for Microsoft. Its largest concentration of employees is at its huge headquarters in Redmond, Washington, where more than 30,000 employees come to work.

In addition to top salaries, employees have access to a 401(k) plan in which their contributions are matched dollar for dollar up to 6 percent of pay, comprehensive health insurance with zero premiums and 100 percent coverage of most prescription drugs. The company also doles out annual stock awards that vest over five years: They go to 90 percent of employees.
