At nearly $5 million, a 1959 Ferrari took the top price at this year's Pebble Beach collector car auctions.

One of only 51 long wheelbase California Spyders ever built, this Scaglietti-bodied beauty is in immaculate condition. And although it lacks the pedigree and the lighter weight body of the other California Spyder to sell at Pebble, this car has perfect running gear and represents a high-water mark for Ferrari. In fact, many collectors consider the 250 GT Cal Sypder to be among the most beautiful cars ever built -- and certainly one of the most lovely Ferraris.
