Mitsubishi Concept cX This four-wheel-drive concept vehicle, powered by a 138-horsepower diesel engine, is designed to "enrich society -- both materially and spiritually -- and safeguard the global environment," says Mitsubishi. It uses an automatic twin-cluch transmission that transfers power through a clutch rather than using fluid, resulting in a more direct and efficient transfer of power to the wheels. (This type of transmission is becoming popular in Europe where drivers have tended to prefer manual transmissions.) The Concept cX also uses plant-based plastics, reducing the amount of petroleum used to build the car.
