On October 31, 1957, Toyota officially opened for business in the United States. The American auto business hasn't been the same since.

With the Supra, Toyota took the Celica, a fun little car, to the level of serious performance. The original version, called the Celica Supra, came with a 2.6-liter, 6-cylinder electronic fuel-injected engine producing 110 hp.

Ultimately, the Supra became a model name in its own right. The 1998 Supra, the final version, was available with an enormous rear wing, a 320-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 engine and a six-speed transmission.
