In an attempt to expand his brand, Hooters of America chairman Robert H. Brooks purchases Pace Airlines in December and renames the small North Carolina company Hooters Air.

Now: Dreams deflated

Citing sky-high fuel prices after the 2005 hurricane season, Hooters Air ceases all public Charter flights in April 2006. Pace airlines sill operates private charter flights.
