I work in the publishing business, so it's no surprise that I love books. Last year, to allow me to bring more with me on business trips, I bought Sony's portable reader, which can store up to 80 books downloaded from a catalog of 13,500 titles.
Slightly smaller than a paperback, the reader weighs just 9 ounces and is only half an inch thick. The 6-inch screen and high resolution are easy on my eyes, and the battery needs recharging only once a week. While I could download MP3s, Word documents, and PDFs to the reader, I don't see the point. My iPod has better sound, and I still need my laptop for work.
