America's long-term problem is competitiveness, and I think 2007 will bring a wake-up call. We'll finally do something about public education. There will be a move to national standards, at least in science and math. While education is my biggest concern, my personal passion is art. The art market has gone up 10 to 30 percent a year for five years. Nothing goes up in a straight line forever. There has got to be a correction. I am paying more in insurance for many of my paintings than I did for the art itself.
