As the leading U.S. provider of interiors to trucks and SUVs, it's no surprise that Lear had a rough year as automakers scaled back production of gas guzzlers. And it's no surprise either that Lear is now courting Hyundai, Toyota and Nissan, which all have new production plants in the U.S. Management is also pushing a $3 billion buyout offer from financier Carl Icahn, although some shareholders may reject it as too low.
