The lap of luxury

At a new resort in Georgia, racing takes center stage. Victory Lane, 70 miles west of the Savannah/Hilton Head airport, boasts a world-class 4.5-mile road course blessed by racing legend Phil Hill. The resort won't open till 2009 but homes are selling now, and Fortune got a sneak peek.

There are 122 lots ranging from three to 30 acres; 40 have sold to date. Owners can choose from one of Brown's home designs or bring in their own architect and follow building guidelines.

Victory Lane charges $2,590 a month for dues, and there are no additional costs for guests. If you want the track to yourself for the day, though, that will cost extra.

The entire property is wired with T1 lines, a wireless network, and state-of-the-art electronics, including cameras mounted trackside that will allow your family to watch you spin out from the comfort of your Victory Lane home. Prices range from $1.4 million to $5.9 million; go to unlimitedspeed.net for information.
